I was tagged

♥I was tagged by Sarah at gypsymermaidlife to list 6 random things about myself. So here are the rules and then my 6 things..
THE RULES (for this game of tag):
1. LINK TO THE PERSON WHO TAGGED YOU
2. POST THE RULES ON YOUR BLOG
3. WRITE SIX RANDOM THINGS ABOUT YOURSELF
4. TAG SIX PEOPLE AT THE END OF YOUR POST AND LINK TO THEM
5. LET EACH PERSON KNOW THEY ARE TAGGED AND LEAVE A COMMENT ON THEIR BLOG
6. LET THE TAGGER KNOW WHEN YOUR ENTRY IS UP
7. DON’T BREAK THE CHAIN (not actually a rule)

ABOUT ME:
1) I am obsessed with Martha Stewart (have all but #1 and #2 of her magazines)
2) When I can't sleep I clean
3) I love hearing complements but don't take them well
4) I am ALWAYS cold (doesn't take much when it is -30)
5) I think I have OCD...love things to be organized and love to organize (over and over again)
6) I love reality TV (esp. BRAVO)

ok... so now I have to choose 6 blogs..
I don't know many bloggers. I just started this whole blog thing last week.
1. Heidi-http://web.me.com/heiditomhanson/
2.Colleen-http://freshvintage.typepad.com/
3. Julia-http://thescrapbookingblog.com/

Scrap paper flowers

I never throw anything out that I think I just might need/use some day. I have clipboards on my wall with clear pockets clipped on them to hold paper scraps (see my studio blog) picture #10. One for patterned paper, one for solid colors and one for Cricut cut-outs that were the wrong size or color. I noticed over the weekend that the patterned one was really really full. So, I decided to make these cute funky flower embellishments with those pieces that were too small for scrapbooking. I used the scallop punch from Stampin' up and the two circles were Fiskers medium and large. I cut out about 100 of each punch and just started combining them. I tried to make sets of 4, so that they matched. I found some great combinations, and some that did not turn out so good. But hey, at least I used up all my scraps. I am going to sell these on Etsy. I ended up with about 23 wonderful sets. Each a little different then the next.

So fun, custom Doorknob Bags

Not sure if you knew this but, my mom and I make these small bags 5" x 5" that are meant to hang on doorknobs with little treats or a note (or whatever) in them. We call them Doorknob Bags... go figure huh? Anyway. I had a kind man from Spain contact me (via my Etsy site) wondering if I'd do a couple custom ones for him.

These are what I did for him:

Spiderman was labor intensive, but fun.

and he wanted me to create bags for his friend, who is a painter...see her art here. As you can see, I tried to make them look as much like her art as possible.

My House Scrapbook

Old Window Class

I help teach a class at the Scrappin-n-Chattin crop house that I am part owner (if you call it that). The class is $65.00 and that includes the window and the extra tacky red tape (used to hold everything together). All that you'd need to bring is your pictures, paper and embellishments.

Here's a sample of what I did for my window.
I used each pane as a page its self. So each page I did was framed but they all go together.

Here's a sample of one of my students windows.

Please e-mail the above website if you are interested in taking my class.

First Finds

Jon and I had to drop off some items at the thrift store the other day, and well I had to go in. I found a few things for scrapbooking and for my collection. I found some card dividers for 49¢ and same for the yellow insurance cards (I think that's what they are for). Also got a flower frog...very cool. And a Swedish flag patch... for scrapbooking. Also found some cool retro recipe cards (I'm going to figure out how to do a scrapbook on recipe cards in a recipe box). And Jon received the UNO scorepads for Christmas...he's a UNO junkie. I'm going to use them for scrapbooking or card making.

Well here I go...

I am going to attempt my first blog. I hope people read it and follow. I am not the most articulate and sometimes get a head of myself. But love to share, especially great thrift finds.

The goal I have for this blog will be to showcase finds (gems that I discover at thrift stores or garage sales), give creative ideas for the finds and just have fun.

I promise to update it at least once a week (even if it is just a hello). I love reading blogs but hate when I go back to my favorites and nothing has been said for weeks.
