My new wreath

So I saw this wreath on this posting by Margo... 8th picture down. I fell in love with it. I love bottle brush anything, it is so 50's and then with those retro looking ornaments, I just had to have it. I contacted Margo and she said she'd grab one for me (I certainly could not get it myself, she's in Texas, I'm in Minnesota). So she did! I just got it in the mail the other day and hung it right away. I know it looks a little "Easter" like, but I need to admire it for a while before I put it away. Then again I might just leave it up. It goes with the rest of my house that is some-what 50's.

Here it is...

Pink and Green Swap Box, Arrived!

On Monday I received my Swap box from Gypsy Mermaids Pink and Green Swap. I was so excited. My swap partner was Julie from CupcakeDD. Here's a couple pictures of my goodies.

i am going to have so much fun with all this "stuff". Now, to keep my DH away from the candy ;).

Tuesday Tip

****note, non-creative posting****

The Sunbeam Hot Shot!

I use it almost every day in the cold Minnesota winters. Perfect for the office, RV, dorm room, or kitchen, this compact machine heats 16 ounces of water to the boiling point in l90 seconds. Anyone in a perpetual hurry or who hates to clean pots and pans will love this device. Tea, hot chocolate, instant coffee, instant noodles, soups, oatmeal, and mashed potatoes—simply place the bowl or cup under the water spout and presto! Stir and slurp.

I love mine.

I even bought a second one for the office at a garage sale for 50¢.

Favorite Things ATC

For my small group ATC club I am part of we needed to create a ATC about our favorite thing. I have A LOT of favorites but chose my Clear Rhinestone Brooches as my favorite thing for this ATC.

I took some of my collection outside and photographed them in a large group, and chose one to do individually.

I printed out the group of them for the background of the card and the individual one to showcase. I really wanted that one to "sparkle" so I went over that entire cut-out brooch with crystal accent liquid.

I also added Rhinestones at the end of the swirls on the "Cherish" stamp

Altered Book Club

Book #2 for Altered Book Club.

This month I chose Chris' book and the theme of her book is Autumn.

I wrote words that remind me of autumn on the back of the leaves.

The Poem by Charolet Flake Bates reads:

The heart of autumn must have broken here, and poured its treasure out upon the leaves.

Behind the tree I layered blue ribbon lightest to darkest to represent the sky and tore up pieces of tape this tape to look like fallen leaves.

New items for sale on my Etsy site

Variety Pack of Sewing Needles

Variety Pack of Lace Seam Binding

Great deal at $4.00 each plus shipping.

Tuesdays Tip

Marker storage

You probably already know this but, you should ALWAYS store your markers nib side down. So that the ink will always be at the tip of the marker. And for all double-ended markers you have, store those horizontally.

I found this great marker storage pouch at a... you guessed it a thrift store. But you can get it here. I love it!

It is 3 sided, but I keep it in the pouch and use the inside portion to hold my watercolor pencils, and Stampin' Up blenders.

ATC JAM #1

This was fun, the first ATC JAM I was a part of. I was the third and last person to add to this card. I added the vintage tobacco coupon, the thermometer and the thought bubble. I just love how this came together. Those old ladies peeping over the fence at that beautiful girl and thinking to themselves that..."she's not that hot", compared to what the thermometer is reading.
