PRICKLEY PEAR!

Time to show off some of the Prickley Pear DT cards that I have been working on, I hope you enjoy them.

King of Hearts—

Size: A2
Cut 3 concentric circles out of card and the 2 colored papers (1.25" out of the white, 1"; out of the red, .75" out of the yellow). Glue those to inside of card. Print saying on computer, trim and glue to front of card. Stamp King on white paper color and trim. Cut red paper slightly larger than king stamped image. Print saying on computer, trim and glue on top of King. Mount with pop dots for dimension. Cover the colored paper inside of card with white paper.

Supplies:
Paper} Solid: (Red and Yellow) Archivers, White-Neenah
Ink} Memories, Copics
Tools} PPRS-King, Computer font courier, pop dots, Marvy circle punches

Love Cat—

Find the cat stamp here. It also uses one of my ALL TIME favorite stamps Linoleum Background. I use this stamp all the time. It is a great stamp to add just a little pattern over a solid, or even over another pattern (like I did here, you can kinda see it over the PP, I clear embossed it)

Size: A2
Cut size of card out of the green paper. Mount red panel on front with the edge punched. Cut another piece of green slightly smaller than the red. Stamp the linoleum stamp on the patterned paper with Versamark and clear embossing powder. Mount that on the smaller green panel. Stamp the cat on white paper and color with Copics. Mount him on a piece of red paper. Put a loop of ribbon behind the panel with the cat on it. Now attach that panel to the card with pop dots. Add a bow. Cut one of the patterned paper flowers out, and attach it to the front of the cat in the cats mouth with the leaf ribbon.

Supplies:
Paper} Solid: (Red and Green) Archivers, White-Neenah Patterned: Memory Box
Ink} Adirondack, Copics
Tools} PPRS-Scribble Cat and Linoleum stamps, SU Clear Embossing powder, EK Success Border Punch, Papertrey Ink red ribbon, May Arts Leaf Ribbon

Copic Storage Before and After

Before:

(I had to improvise on my Copic storage using an old VCR tape holder with a cardboard wedge under them to keep them from falling out.
But as you can see not all my stamp pads fit in it anymore. And who doesn't ever buy more stamp pads? Not me! I need room for expansion.)

After!

Love it!
I was on a blog that I frequent and I came upon this great storage made specially for Copics! I don't have that many yet, but now I have room for when my collection grows. But as you can see you can store other things besides the Copics in them. The great things is that the shelves are slightly tilted back so the markers stay in the cubbie.

Please give Tami a visit at Studio 3 Solutions (her husband's the one who's making them, right here in the USA!). And they are really affordable. If you visit, please tell Tami "Hi" for me.

A New Stamp Company!

Announcing.... there is a new stamp company that will be launching on Monday, January 25th, and it has some of the cutest images that I've seen in a long time! I'm so excited to announce that I was personally chosen to be on their brand new design team to help launch the stamps! Along with myself the team is made up of six other talented gals—

Feel free to check out Heidi's blog (she's the awesome illustrator of the images, you can buy her stamps there as well)!

Our official launch on Monday - so if you want to be in the know, follow the blog and you'll be the first to see new projects from the DT! Until Monday, check the 2Cute Rubber Stamps DT blog for a preview.

It's Pile It On week!

The theme this week at Pile it on! is Warm wishes. We were to translate that any way we wanted. So I decide to do a "best wishes" card. This one was fun, I knew I wanted to do a "get well" "wish" card, because I have a girl friend who had gall bladder surgery on Friday.
And I know she'll need a pick-me-up.

Challenges that I am accomplishing:

Isn't she cute?
I started this card by stamping the background flowers with Versamark and then going over them with chalks. I just swirled the chalks over the image and they magically appear. I like the soft look they have. Then I stamped the girl on Neenah paper and colored her with Copics. I trimmed her out and placed her over the flowers using pop-dots. I then cut that whole piece out using a scallop Nestability. I cut another scallop out slightly larger and punched holes in each of the scallops and edged it with white ink. I found some pretty purple paper (PTI) and layered it with purple ribbon (May Arts). I added a sentiment from PTI on a "tag" to the left of the scallop. To finish it all off I added 3 pearls that I colored purple with my Copics, to the bottom right corner.

Recipe:
Stamps: The Angel Company (girl and flowers), Papertrey Ink {PTI}(Sentiment)
Paper: Solid (Core d'nations), Patterned (PTI)
Ink: Memories, Versamark, PTI (fresh snow)
Other: Copics, EK Success (1/16" hole punch)(chalks)(tag punch), Hero Arts (Pearls)

Today is the day

I can't believe it, 1 year ago today I decided to jump into this thing called a blog. A BLOG? I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I knew I wanted to show people the things that I create, ways to organize and other tutorials/tips. I had no idea that people would actually "follow" me and would WANT to see the things I created. I truly read every comment that is left, and look at all of your blogs. I hope you get as much inspiration from me as I do from all of you.

I wanted to celebrate my blogoversary with some sort of giveaway. I also wanted others to find me that have never visited. I had NO IDEA that when I asked for you to follow me and link my blog to yours that I'd DOUBLE my followers. I knew that there were a lot of creative people out there.

Please check back at NOON CST for the reveal of the winner.
