Prickley Pear ATC Trade

Using the Wildflower Garden Stamp and part of the saying
from the Wildflower garden sentiment.

ATC size
I cut out the ATC from Green colored cardstock. Stamped the flowers in
Versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder.
Then with a sponge I added white ink over the flowers,
green ink over the stems and pink over the bottom.
And then sprayed the whole card with shimmer spritz spray.

With Copic markers I colored the small piece
of lace before I glued it on. I also added
a small rub-on square from American Crafts.

I stamped the sentiment out on glimmer cardstock and
then using my word window punch from SU
I just punched out the in the beauty from the stamp.
Attached it with a button tied with string to the card.

Look at packaging in a different way

I used the chipboard backer the Prima Flowers came on for this project.

Card front using recycled material.

Use the Prima flower backer. Cut one end off. Distress the edges. Add glitter around the scroll work. Punch small holes in the other side. Run the ribbon around the back and loop into small knots on each end. Add two flowers onto the knot on the left side. Run the pin through them and top off with a crystal. For the stamped card, swirl a couple colors of distress ink on to your work mat. Take ATC size paper and dip it into the swirled distress ink. Stamp the round image with versamark and emboss with clear. Stamp the floral image with Momento ink. Add stickles to the stamped flowers. Take the edge punch and punch a long strip of pink about 12" long. Gather like a pleat. Sew the ATC onto a piece of pink cut slightly larger. Add the pleated paper to the right side. Add a couple gems. Glue that whole piece to the background. To finish it off, add glitter to the left side of the pink paper.

Ink}Distress ink-Tim Holtz, Black-Momento

It happened again!

I am published!

I am beside myself with joy.

The story is that I sent in 6 cards to Stampers
Sampler November 12, 2009. They published the
first card in the Take 10 issue in February, see story here.

The second time I was published they published
2 cards in 2 different sections of the Stampers
Sampler magazine, see story here.

Now, I just got the Catch Up issue
of Stampers Sampler in the mail. I have 2 cards
in this one as well, but this time they are both on
the same page!!!

Now they still have 1 card of mine,
I wonder what the fate of that card will be?

I'll keep you posted if anything
happens with it.

Ohhhh....get ready!

Hoppy Day!

Prickly Pear Tree Frog card!

I did something I've never done before
with this card. I painted with embossing powder.

Using an embossing pen I added it to specific
places on the frog. And then using a paintbrush, I picked up
some of the powder and added to the frog.
(see it below in the close-up of the frog)

Don't forget to stop by the Prickley Pear Design Team
Blog for more inspiration!

A2

Cut yellow paper to card size. Add green blocks paper to yellow, cut slightly smaller. With another sheet of yellow, cut slightly smaller than green blacks, sew three strips of polka dot paper with zig-zag stitch to yellow paper. Add ribbon around the polka dot yellow piece. Attach to green blocks with pop dots. Stamp frog on yellow paper emboss with clear embossing power. Rub distress ink over frog onto the background. Frog will all of a sudden pop-out. Die-cut the frog piece and another with nestabilities. Add the flower folded in half behind the frog panel. With a embossing pen add a little to the edges of the frog emboss it using the carnival powder. Add depth with Copics. Spray whole thing with copper spritz. Stamp Hoppy Day onto grosgrain ribbon. Attach with glue dot and pin. To finish add green crystals here and there and some scrappers floss.

Playing a little catch up

I've been so busy with a multitude of things.

Here are a couple of projects that I have been working on.

A ATC card for April
This one was fun, I tried out a new folding flower
technique that I came across on the web.
(sorry I can't find the blog) I'll have to do one for you.

In this ATC: Background is K& Co. paper that I ran
through the Cuddlebug in a folder. On the top half I
stamped with my new FAVORITE Dot Spot stamp
from PTI . I stamped a small cranberry flower in the lower
right corner. I added a punched vintage ticket border (EK Success-Petals)
under the velvet ribbon. The flower is made form vintage dictionary pages.
I added an old school brass brad with a pearl glued to the middle.
The flower is sprayed with the new Sparkle spray from Tsukineko.

Now onto my vintage button flower garden.

I bought a tin silk flower holder at a thrift store and had no idea what I
was going to do with it, but I knew I needed to have it. It is oval in shape,
about 8" tall 12"long and 3" deep. It came filled with foam and covered
in moss. I decided to make a field of button flowers to put in it.

Grabbed my jar full of buttons and started to put them together.
I use thin floral wire to assemble. I also add ribbon leaves, as I twist
the wire.

OCC#10 Sketch challenge

Oh boy this one was fun! My spot Dots stamps just
arrived form PTI and I just had to play with them.

And I wanted to do something different so I punched out
butterflies and used them as flower petals.

I really like how this card turned out.

You are correct!

I'M PUBLISHED AGAIN!

in the April/May Issue of Stampers Sampler

I was so surprised! This time I did not get a free magazine
sent to me in the mail. I got a postcard that says congratulations
you've been published! So I had no idea what card(s) were
published. So when I went into my local stamping
store they said "so how's it feel to be famous". I had no idea
what they were talking about, because I did not tell them.
I only got the postcard the day before. How did they know?

Well, they already had the magazine in the store! And when they paged
through it they saw the apron card (you'll see it later in the post).
And they actually liked the card, before they knew it was from me.

So then I started paging through the magazine
and found the card below.

Here's the apron card.

Thank you all for enjoying this moment with me.

If you guessed correctly, please email me your address
and I'll send you out a little something.
