Some Vintage!

On our way to the retreat last weekend Kathie and
I took the long way there and we hit quite a few garage sales.

I did not find a whole lot, but what I did, was wonderful.

Recently I have been into buying the toys that I had as a child.
So when I saw this... I had to have it. And at $5.50 not bad.

And I totally remember having this too. When I saw it
it brought back so many memories. $6.25 I know this is a lot but
it was just one of those things.

And then this for only $1.00!
I think I might alter the outside, but this inside is
so wonderful. The green silk is beautiful!

I am going to store all of the cards I made inside it.

What are some of your favorite thrift/garage sale finds?

It's OCCSC Thursday!

Here you go!
It's the sketch for this weeks Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge.

This ones a simple one.
One that you can use over and over again.

Why don't you give it a try this week.

Here's what I did.

Recipe:
Mo Digital Image
October Afternoon Pattern Paper
Copics
Stickles
American Crafts Ribbon
String
Vintage Buttons
DCWV Solid Blue
Neenah White
Sweetness stamp is from Unity

One problem I had with the stickles was that they started to
bleed when I applied it. It did not make the Copics run but it
did make the computer print of the digi stamp run. YUCK!

So I had to think of something to cover up the
worst part that run.... so hence the strawberry round cover-up.

Now I know NOT to use stickles on a computer printed piece, only
on something I actually stamped myself.

So beautiful!

Day 1 at the retreat.

This place is much more beautiful in person than
the pictures show. I have been taking a lot of pictures
but I'm not familiar with this computer, so I'm
not sure how to upload them.

Maybe later today I will investigate it a little more.

I have not gotten much done.
But do you really get much done
at a retreat? Not that I expected to.

Later today the girls (all 12 of us) are going
to go "into town" and go to a scrapbooking
store and out to eat. That will be a lot of fun.

I have met a lot of really wonderful fun girls at
this retreat. Now when I do swaps and other things
with them online, I will be able to put a
face to the name.

Kathie and I went to garage sales the whole way here.
We left Maple Grove at 7:00 Friday morning
(knowing it would take us only about
1.5 hours to get to the retreat).

We were following what the GPS was telling us.
Finding out 3 hours into the trip, she was telling us wrong.

Oh well....we found a lot of garage sales and ended up getting
to the retreat house about 3:00...YES for a 1.5 expected route.

We'll breakfast is ready. Gotta go eat, like
I have not been eating every half an hour.

Retreat time!

I can not wait, only 2 more days
and then I get to go on a SCRAPBOOKING retreat!

I have not been on a retreat for at least 5 years.

Look...
I get to go here!

It is the Wild Wood Retreat in Wisconsin.

We have actually planned this retreat for over a year.
12 of us from the ISC (Inspire Swap Chat) forum are getting together
to meet for the first time. We even have girls flying in.
So this will be my last post until next week.
Unless I can blog from there (I will try).

It's Thursday, you know what that means...

It's Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge Day! and
today is extra special because I am going to start to showcase the
cards I made for Prickley Pear and PK Glitz vendor showcase.

So here it is, I used Prickley Pear stamps, PK Glitz Glitter and the
sketch from Our Creative Corner.

This one was very fun. It has been a long time since I made a masculine card.
This one is still masculine even with the shape of a flower in the
middle. At least all of the petals have fish on them, right?

Those wooden fish I have been moving from house to house for about
3 moves now. Glad I finally could use them for something.

Recipe:
Pattern Paper-Basic Grey and Sassafrass
Solid Paper-Archivers
Ink-Copics, Clear embossing powder, and Anirondack embossing powder
Stamp-Prickley Pear
Ribbon-May Arts

Other- Sewing, Glitter, String and Wood fish

A wonderful partnership

a great partnership

For the next couple posts I will be showcasing PP stamps along
with PK Glitz glitter! They are a preferred partner of Prickley Pear!

The glitter is so beautiful and I love how fine it is.
You can use it for detail and it shows up great!
