Good Morning!

Boy Minnesota has had it rough the last few days. We had a huge snow storm go through and it left us with 9", but up to 15" in other cities along the storms path.

This weekend I pretty much stayed in. I got a lot of things done. My craft room is now presentable. I am going to take photos today if the light in there is good. I have to thank my good friend Erica for helping me reorganize everything. While organizing, we decided that this summer we are going to have a huge "craft" garage sale. I have 3 huge bags already full.

Now onto The Cuttlebug Spot Tuesday!

We have a great challenge for you! create a Pop-Up card.

There are a lot of patterns and tutorials out there to get inspiration from. Mine came from an old copy of Stampers Sampler (2008) for a purse that has a pop-out inside.

Recipe
Stamps—Prickley Pear, saying from Papertry ink
Paper—Daisy D's, red with polka dots (unknown)
Ink— Momento, Copic Markers and Versamark
Ribbon—Rick Rack Offray, Stripe May Arts
Other—Foam tape, piggy tales spring, Sassafass bunny, smooch (on records) and string

Gate fold card

CUTTLEBUG!

It's Cuttlebug Spot design team challenge.

Create a Gate fold card. If you don't know how to fold a gate card, here are a few samples....

I had fun with the card. I decided to challenge myself by using only pieces from my scraps stash.

I don't remember where I got this image but I thought it worked really well for a card that will be posted a day after Valentines day. The tag "doors" were from a class I had. We were playing with Alcohol inks and Glitter mist with stencils. I made hinges with scrap ribbon and I had to add this flower that matched perfectly. I used 2 embossing folders for the inside. I first ran it through with script embossing folder and then the chandelier folder. I added distress ink and sparkle spray to it. So I did it... ALL SCRAPS!

Thrift Finds

I finally remembered to take pictures of my thrift finds. On Saturday our local ARC Value Village was having 1/2 off everything. I love those sales. I meet a friend there and we shopped!

At first I was not finding anything. I always go to the "art/office" section first. I found a couple packages of seal stickers. I also got these great old tempera paint shakers from Crayola. I love old Crayola things. Then I go up to the collectables, kids games and "good" clothes. I spend the rest of the time looking through the other clothes.

Finds:
Strawberry Shortcake Strawberry doll holder
Flower rubber stamp
Car rubber stamp
ruler
house record book
metal hoops
2 frogs
round seals
fun file folder
table crumb hand vacuum
1 jacket and 2 shirts
2 Rhinestone brooches

(not the Fish Oil... did not notice that until
I was uploading the photo just now.)

All this for $23.74 ish.

AWESOME!

SU Midwest Conference!

Is anyone else out there going to the Stampin' Up
midwest Convention on Friday?

It is at the Minneapolis Convention
center on Friday from 8-4.

This year is a little different, each Sales person is able to bring 1 guest with them. I suppose so they can "recruit" me.

I AM NOT GOING TO SELL STAMPIN' UP!

Not going to do it.

I am going as a guest with Erica my Stampin' Up sales person. She's been selling for a couple years and always has really great make-n-takes. If any of you want to do a make-n-take, or need someone to buy SU from
I can hook you up!

Starting in January I have been working on making my trades for convention. So far I have made around 100 card fronts for trades. I will post them as soon as I can. I hope I come home with 100 new samples.

I promise to take photos during the day and do an entire blog post from it
(that is if they allow me).
