I totally forgot to post my card for the Circle and Scallop Die cut from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. This is an awesome die. The size is about 2.25" and is perfect for cards like the one I made....A 3x3. I normally don't make this size, but I wanted to give it a try.

For today I used the Butterfly die and stamp set.
There are some awesome new stamps that match the die-cut.

Tomorrow I will be showcasing the Bird die and stamp set.... Can't wait for you to see it... GREAT stamps!

OCC#10 Sketch challenge

Oh boy this one was fun! My spot Dots stamps just
arrived form PTI and I just had to play with them.

And I wanted to do something different so I punched out
butterflies and used them as flower petals.

I really like how this card turned out.

Scrappers and card makers can find a use for anything!

I am hosting a challenge over on ISC here is what it is:

Make a card, any theme, any color, but you need to use something that is unexpected. Think recycling; a Kleenex box for the paper, a padded envelope (bubble side) for a stamp, a carved potato for a stamp, a bunch of canceled stamps for a background or a napkin as a background. Think beyond the items intended purpose.

You need to post a picture of the item BEFORE you use it in your card, as well as the finished project.

See those Butterflies, aren't they pretty?...

this is what I used...

You probably think I'm a little wacky...but I did not want that beautiful pattern to go to waste. It was so light and butterfly-like.

Boy did I "Pile it on"

For this weeks Pile It On Challenge, I really "piled it on"
I used:
Pile It On-Buttons
CPS-Sketch
Use It-Ingredients: Nature
One Little Word-Good

Here's what I did

Supplies
Paper: SP-Archivers and coredinations
Ink: Stampin' Up, StazOn, Versamark
Stamps: SU (doodle this) and my cute stamps (butterfly)
Other: Prima flowers, SU clear embossing, string, vintage buttons, tan eyelets, a piece of driftwood (stick) and birch bark

I embossed swirls on the paper behind the stick.

I stamped the butterflies on the birch bark with Stazon, colored them with SU markers and cut them out.

For the words I cut a strip of coredinations 3/8" wide and ran it through my label maker (the kind that takes the plastic tape and you squeeze the handle and it impresses the letters into it). And then lightly sanded it to make the letters come out.

Beautiful Butterfly Button Wall Art

A couple weeks back a girlfriend asked me to help her create some art for her daughters room. She saw something she really loved at a well known home decor establishment that is made up of 2 words starting with a P and a B and ending with kids. So she bought them so we could lift the idea. The large one retailed for $179.00. We knew we could make it even better for A LOT less. After looking at how it was done, we knew we needed a canvas 36"x36" some scrapbooking paper and buttons. She bought some scrapbooking paper that coordinated with the bedding and I had the buttons.

We figured out how may circles of each size we'd need and I used my Cricut to cut them all out. We placed all the different circles on the canvas and then glued them in place with quick drying glue. After the the main part was laid out, we filled in the empty space with buttons.

Here's how it turned out...

Close-up of button antennas.

She also made a few smallers ones to coordinate with the largest one.

On the large one alone I think she saved $125. And she saved a total of $350.00 by doing it herself. Granted it did take an afternoon, but that is a huge savings.
